The World of Tencendor

Hello again, I see no one has posted since I was here last. :(

I've been rereading the series, and am now on The Twisted Citadel. As I've been reading, I've been inspired to do some fanart and fanfiction, because this series is very lacking in both. I haven't posted any drawings yet, but I just uploaded a short fiction to fanfiction.net:

You can read it here.

It's Axis/Inardle, because as much as I dislike Axis, I'm really liking the pairing. It's just hot.

In a few days I'll have my hands on The Infinity Gate, which I have yet to read, so you'll probably hear more from me XD

Hey lovelies--

Can you guys refresh me on Salome's character from the DarkGlass Mountain trilogy? It's been a couple years since I read them and I've drawn a blank...I'm rereading the Wayfarer Redemption trilogy right now and Salome just popped into my head. I'm at college so alas I do not have my books with me. *pout*

What I think is funny is that I posted here several years back when I was reading Pilgrim and Crusader and I wrote that I liked all the Biblical references. And now I find them downright irritating. Haha.

I'm very sad to see how little-used this community is anymore. :[ I used to chat on here [with my old lj angelfetus] a couple years ago when it was more active. It was kind of like... a release... after a long day. Books are everybody's release from reality, to get mixed up in someone else's unrealistic life that somehow seemed more amazing than our own. Sara Douglass' books, more so than most, were the best to get lost in. & it was wonderful to be able to share that with others. idk about you guys, but nobody I know in person has read the books. So to be able to chat, gossip, giggle, & debate over them like middle-school girls with crushes was one of the best feelings I had... erm, once upon a time. ^_^;

I don't know. I just wanted to say how I felt about this, & wondered if anybody else felt the same. I wish there were some way for us to all become active again. There have been attempts, but... well, you see the results.

I miss this community.

Sara Douglass posted this on her website a couple of days ago. It's pretty awful news, and will mean she's taking a well-deserved break from writing. I hope I speak for all of us when saying that the thoughts and best wishes of the fandom are with her.

:D Newness [Nov. 22nd, 2008|06:27 pm]

[mood |chipperchipper]

Hello All! I've just recently in the last few months discovered Sara Douglass by way of my Uncle Douglas. ;]
I'm waiting on him to finish Crusader before I start it, so I've started Hades' Daughter [Book One of The Troy Game] and so far I'm loving it. Thank God for the public library or I'd never get to read her works!

Does anyone have a suggestion on another author who writes along the same lines as Sara Douglass? I'm absolutely absorb books faster than a coke head in a room full of blow with only one minute to stuff as much as he can in his nose.

also, this is an offshoot journal of an old one, so if you need a friend, check me out. ;D

Hello all! I got into Sara Douglass four years ago, though I haven't read anything past her Axis Trilogy/Wayfarer Redemption chunk of books (that is including the two side books, too).

Don't know if it's been talked about, but I figure the timeline of those particular books go like this:

Axis Trilogy
Beyond the Hanging Wall (though this might blend with the last bit of the Trilogy...)
Wayfarer Redemption
Darkglass Mountain

I'm upset more people don't know about her series. I finally met someone in the mall who just heard of her (started reading Troy Game, I think). Oh well, I spread the word everywhere. I don't have the second book to Darkglass Mountain yet (so many books are coming out that I need to read!), but that's next on my list.

I don't usually do this... [Jul. 27th, 2008|12:01 am]

...but I was listening to this song and it struck me that it fits in perfectly with some Troy Game-related stuff. I realise this is a Tencendor community, but some people will have read the Troy Game books, right?

behind the cut because it's potentially spoilerish for those who haven't read Book ThreeCollapse )

What do you think?

Movie(s)? [Jun. 2nd, 2008|05:22 pm]

[music |Coldplay - Viva la Vida]

On the Sara Douglass facebook group, someone made a post a while back asking if people thought movies should be made. I have a mixed feeling about it myself. Of course I would want there to be a movie, it would help the books' publicity... maybe. If the movies were good, it would. I could sort of picture the books better as a TV series than just a movie (or two, or three) unless there were two different trilogies, just as the books. Anyway, since I've been bored all day, I amused myself with potential actors for the characters~

Long list is long.Collapse )

As you can see, some I couldn't think of... but it was entertaining while it lasted. :P What would be your suggestions?

Also, I'm up to chapter seventeen in The Twisted Citadel. I don't trust the Lealfast. =\
